USED AGAINST OSTEOPOROSIS
DEXA-scanner-460In 2007 the Friends focused on fundraising towards providing a Dexa Scanner for the hospital.
This fundraising campaign was hugely supported by Riverdance with all proceed from two shows in May 2007 in Letterkenny going towards this campaign.
What does it do?
A Dexa Scanner is used to scan the skeletal system to check bone density with emphasis on diagnosing osteoporosis. It can predict the risk of fracture and help to identify patients who would benefit from taking preventative measures or treatment. It is currently the most accurate and reliable means of assessing the strength of your bones and your risk of breaking a bone.
