New CT Scanner delivered
The Friends of LUH are delighted to announce the delivery and commissioning of a new CT Scanner. The new CT scanner is now fully functional since Monday, 26th February 2018.
Chairman of the Friends, Mr Peter Cutliffe thanked all those who contributed and collected the money over the past three years, all €460,000.
“Once the refurbishment of the radiology department is concluded, Letterkenny University Hospital will be the only hospital of it’s size to have two fully functional CT Scanners.
Well done to the Friends of LUH”
FYI – According to Wikipedia
A CT scan, also known as computed tomography scan, makes use of computer-processed combinations of many X-ray measurements taken from different angles to produce cross-sectional (tomographic) images (virtual “slices”) of specific areas of a scanned object, allowing the user to see inside the object without cutting.
