Our Vision The Friends of Letterkenny University Hospital is an independent charity with a dual purpose; to raise funds via charitable or fundraising means to provide additional capital to kick start new services in the hospital to promote voluntary work in order to augment ordinary hospital services. We fully respect our donors wishes as to use of their funds and are careful to ensure they are invested as directed.
Our Mission We encourage our donor communities to support us in investing in new health and medical advances which improve the lives of Letterkenny University Hospital’s patients and their families. We seek, invest and manage donor funds responsibly in order to realise our vision.
This voluntary organisation, which was granted charitable status in 1995, has two main objectives:
to raise funds via charitable donations/fundraising to provide seed capital for the development of new services in LUH and secondly to facilitate voluntary work to augment ordinary hospital services. The Friends have been responsible for raising in excess of €7 million from membership fees, donations, church gate collections and various fund-raising events throughout the North West since 1992.
