Declan Irwin, Irwin Electrical, Port Road, Letterkenny has donated €10,000 to the Friends of LUH. Declan raised over €30,000 following participation in an endurance race, one-third of which wen to the Friends. This money will be used to support the work of the Friends, namely by providing seed capital to support the development of new services developments in the hospital, since 2002, we have provided a bus to take patients who require radiotherapy from Donegal to St Lukes hospital in Dublin free of charge and we have responded to pleas for assistance for ad-hoc requests from various departments in LUH when funding from central sources wasn’t forthcoming.
