A Dexa Scanner is used to scan the skeletal system to check bone density with emphasis on diagnosing osteoporosis. It can predict the risk of fracture and help to identify patients who would benefit from taking preventative measures or treatment. It is currently the most accurate and reliable means of assessing the strength of your bones and your risk of breaking a bone.
In 1998 the Friends campaign centred on raising funds for the purchase of Cardiac Rehabilitation Equipment which is vitally important to improve the quality of life for patients after a cardiac event (e.g. a heart attack)
An Intra Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) is used widely in assisting critically ill patients with cardiac disease. The primary goal of IABP treatment is to provide temporary assistance to the failing heart and aid the regulation myocardial oxygen supply and demand.
