CARDIAC REHABILITATION EQUIPMENT

In 1998 the Friends campaign centred on raising funds for the purchase of Cardiac Rehabilitation Equipment which is vitally important to improve the quality of life for patients after a cardiac event (e.g. a heart attack)
The equipment resembles items that would usually be found in a gym and includes step machines, rowing machines, exercise bicycles and weights attached to specialist cardiac monitoring equipment. Before the purchase of this equipment, the facility was only available in Dublin hospitals and Sligo General Hospital.
